LWF implementing the agenda for SDGs
The Department for World Service of the Lutheran World Federation, through the Central American Program (LWF / DWS - CA) with its strategy "Life, Dignity and Justice for people of Central America", joins the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda working on:
- Climate Action
- No Poverty
- Zero Hunger
- Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
- Reduced Inequalities
- Gender Equality
LWF / DWS - CA assumes these challenges by working with partners to care about 320,000 people in Central America, with the firm conviction that through actions of protection, historical memory rescue and transitional justice can contribute to achieve peace and respect for Human Rights.
Also working to improve the livelihoods of the population through crop diversification, home and community gardens, conservation of native seeds and implementation of irrigation systems, as a way to eradicate hunger, mainly the threat derived from the effects of climate change where populations in vulnerable situations are primarily affected, so that we are working on increasing resilience, climate risk management, with emphasis on loss and damage.
